This is a self-translated fanfiction with original language Bulgarian. For some parts of it, I used Google translate but edited the translation afterwards. Optimized for British English and tested with Grammarly. Sorry if I have made mistakes but English is not my native language. However, I think I succeeded to fix the most obvious errors. I also checked for the correct characters’ and places’ names online.
And one last thing – a domino is a face mask. I’m not changing that because this is how it’s called in my country.
Enjoy!
It all started with the excruciating pain in the lower back of Aurora Sinistra – the Astronomy teacher in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The last few nights on top of the Astronomy tower had been very cold. She had had classes with the students every night and apparently, the wind had blown her waist very badly. This wasn’t the first occasion in which she brought this on herself but apparently, Madam Pomfrey’s potions had stopped working because of the regular use.
So professor Sinistra spent the next few days in her room, surrounded by numerous vials of potions and applying various compresses on her suffering waist. Madam Pomfrey visited her twice a day.
As a result of this treatment the pains numbed to tolerable, although it was still difficult for her to bend over and when she needed to walk, she looked as if she had swallowed a cane.
Her bad mood was supplemented by the fact that apparently, she would not be healthy enough for the upcoming Halloween masquerade taking place in a certain parlour in Diagon Alley, which she had hoped to attend so much. The Goblins would play there and a lot of her friends would also attend the occasion to see them. Besides, she hadn’t been to a masquerade ball for ages.
Holding her waist with one hand, she opened the wardrobe with the other and began examining her clothes. She wouldn’t be able to put on the costume which she had prepared for the occasion because she would feel ill at ease in it. However, she could wear her dark green dress which had a corset and tighten it. Yes, this was exactly what she was going to do. Besides, green became her.
For her head, she had already prepared a domino and a veil. They had been black but she changed their colour to the same shade of dark green. All she had to do then was wait until All Hallows’ Eve.

The much-anticipated masquerade came soon. Aurora travelled to London with the help of her friend professor McGonagall who had also decided to attend. The two witches apparated from Hogsmeade, Minerva holding Aurora tight to spare her some of the unpleasant feelings in the waist.
They arrived at the masquerade just in time. The hall was almost full. The celebration was about to begin at any moment. The walls were decorated with garlands in the shape of spiders. Lit pumpkin lanterns were floating in the air – the sole source of light on the premises. Occasionally living bats flew high above their heads. All these things created a rather spooky atmosphere which the witches and wizards present tended to like.
The two teachers found their acquaintances relatively easily although all of them were wearing masks. Their group was one of the noisiest and most numerous. It turned out that the people in it were more than they had expected. Apparently, everyone had brought their friends and the friends – their friends and at last, a rather diverse crowd had gathered.
Minerva and Aurora greeted the others and went to get two glasses of pumpkin champagne from the beverage table.
Soon the Goblins climbed on stage and everybody started dancing. However, Aurora didn’t want to go anywhere near the dance floor so she shouted to her group that she would be at the buffet and started tasting the food.
Nobody bothered her for a while. Everybody was busy dancing so she walked around the edges of the hall and curiously looked at the others. But at one point a man in black clothes and a cloak separated from the group and walked toward her.
“Good evening, madam”. He took off his brimmed black hat and bowed. “I see that you are bored. And such an attractive lady like yourself shouldn’t be left alone at an occasion like this.”
“Oh, thank you, kind sir”, she answered and blushed. “I am not bored, I just enjoy the music from afar.”
“But why aren’t you dancing? Don’t you find any pleasure in dancing?”
“Of course I like dancing. But recently a small nuisance happened to me. I am stiff and my waist hurts. So I’d rather not dance.”
“This is very unfortunate, indeed. Will you then let me offer you a chair?” She nodded smiling so the gentleman elegantly conjured a beautiful wooden chair with a soft backrest. “Please, sit down.”
“Thank you.”
The man conjured a more ordinary chair for himself and sat down to keep her company. The music had become louder so the two of them had to speak up in order to be heard.
“What is the name of the lovely lady?” he asked.
“Aurora.”
“You have a very pretty name.”
“Thanks. And what is your name?”
“Oh, does it matter?”
“I suppose not.” Aurora did the least romantic thing she could think of, precisely she stretched her back which cracked. This guy was starting to get on her nerves. Who did he think he was, not telling his name?
But he did not resign easily and tried to strike up a more serious conversation with her, trying to provoke her interest toward various topics. At last, he found out that she had a weakness for astronomy and began discussing the stars and galaxies. The man was rather eloquent which softened her regard for him. So when he asked her to dance the next ballad with him, she graciously accepted.
Since he knew about the pain in her back, he treated his dancing partner very carefully. The danced through three of the ballads in that fashion during which her opinion of him improved drastically. He was educated and knew many things in the field of astronomy as well as outside of it so Aurora started admiring him.
Nevertheless, an accident happened. During the last dance, somebody kicked her in the ankle without an intention and she slumped with a cry. A one-hundred-kilogram wizard had arrived and hung himself on the neck of some frail neighbour of theirs. The neighbour had lost his balance and kicked Aurora by mistake. She would certainly have fallen to the floor if her cavalier had not quickly grabbed her by the shoulders. Her friends turned to her anxiously, but she smiled to reassure them that everything was fine.
He led her carefully out of the crowd.
“Are you all right, madam?” He asked anxiously.
“I don’t think so. As I fell, my lower back ached again.”
“That sounds unpleasant.”
“I think it’s time for me to go. Can you find my friend Minerva, she will help me get home?”
“I can try. What is she wearing?”
“A black dress and a black domino.”
“I don’t think it will be very easy for me. Every second woman here is dressed like that. And I can’t find our group, I think I have lost them.”
“How unpleasant.” Aurora looked for her friends, but they seemed to have disappeared.
“But there is something else we can do. There is a sofa in the lobby upstairs. I can take you there to lie down and then come back to look for your friends.
The man in the cloak helped Aurora reach the stairs, then carried her in his arms to the second floor. There really was a couch where she relaxed with a loud sigh. She felt gawky and clumsy, and if she had to adjust one of her instruments right now, she probably wouldn’t succeed. All this bending over and standing up seemed impossible to her at the moment. She had imagined merriment, songs, and dancing for tonight. Instead, she felt a terrible pain concentrated in her lower back and right leg.
Her companion came back worried a few minutes later.
“Minerva is not here. Someone told me she went to the Leaky Cauldron with the others from the school. It will take me a while to find them and they may not even be there at all. I think it would be better if I apparated you.
“I’ll manage. Will you help me stand up?”
He grabbed her by the armpits and got her to her feet. Aurora cried out in pain and wrapped her arms around his waist to keep from falling to the floor. Her face was centimetres from his, neither higher nor lower, but at the same level. The scent of his cologne wafted toward her, slightly sweet but also woody. She leaned forward and kissed him impulsively.
What followed was tantamount to a starburst. He hugged her strongly, gripping her tightly with both hands. Aurora held on to him until her leg lost its strength. She staggered, he let go one of his hands, bent down, and lifted her into his arms. Then he carried her down the corridor.
She could have protested, demanded that he let her down immediately, try to stun him with a spell. But she didn’t want to. At school, everyone thought of her as the boring-professor-Sinistra, a friend of the even-more-boring-professor-McGonagall. If another boring teacher came along, they would probably make friends right away. Besides, Aurora couldn’t remember when she did something more interesting than putting rosemary in her tea. And now an exciting stranger was carrying her in his arms on the second floor of the ballroom. Aurora reflexively reached into her skirt pocket. The wand was there. She was nervous, but still decided to take a risk.
Besides, the rooms on the second floor were hardly that dangerous. The stranger let her step carefully on the ground near one of the doors, tapped the lock with his wand, then helped her inside. There was a huge four-poster bed inside covered in dark green, and Aurora wondered how coincidental it was. Maybe they just both liked the colour. He helped her into the bed, put pillows behind her back, and took off her shoes. Aurora relaxed. Her ankle was swollen and throbbing, but the man conjured a cold compress and placed it carefully on her foot.
“I think it would be best if you spent the night here.” He smiled under his domino. “There’s no point in shaking you any more tonight.”
“What about you?” she asked.
The man waved vaguely. “The owner knows me, he could always give me another room.”
“Everything is probably already full.” Aurora patted the space next to her. The bed was too enormous for a not-so-big woman like her. The man sat at the end of it and looked at her.
She had probably grown out of it, she thought. Maybe she didn’t know how to impress men any more, what to do. If she tried to be more active, he could leave, and she certainly wouldn’t be able to catch him while limping. If she played too passively, on the other hand, he could also decide she was boring and abandon her all the same. Aurora fidgeted nervously with her hair. The stranger reached out and grabbed a lock. He came closer and put his hands on her shoulders.
“Dear Aurora,” he smiled. “You amaze me. You are so confident when you talk about your science and so timid with me. Let us spend the night together, I promise I won’t hurt you.”
She tried to come closer, but felt a spasm in her waist and relaxed back.
“Stay,” she said, touching his arm. He leaned over her and kissed her gently. Then he continued to kiss her neck and cleavage. Aurora unbuttoned his cloak and dropped it on the floor, then buried her hands in his hair. She tried to remove his domino, but he resisted.
“Let us leave something to the imagination.” He whispered, turning his head to her chest. He reached down and carefully lifted the top of her skirt. Aurora tilted her head to look, removing his hat and her veil. She felt as if a forest fire was burning somewhere there as an echo of his touch. She pulled his shirt from his trousers and slid her hands over his bare back. Then she undid it button by button and removed it from his shoulders. He pulled it away and tossed it on the floor by the cloak. His hands were milky white, with slightly hinted muscles. His body was warm to the touch. He pulled out his wand and ran it over the laces of her corset, then carefully removed it and her skirt, too.
Aurora tried to move down from the pillows, but her muscles wouldn’t budge.
“Stay still,” the man said softly as he continued to kiss her belly. He reached her underpants decorated with yellow and pink flowers, completely out of tune with the colour of her dress. Aurora tried to cover them with her hand, suddenly embarrassed, but he carefully pushed it aside. “I don’t think you will need these.”
She felt practically helpless, as she could not even move. Still, she found some pleasure in this feeling. He could do whatever he wanted, but she felt he would not abuse his power over her.
He touched her with his hand and she sighed. Then he slid his head down and ran his tongue over her sensitive areas. She wanted to squirm with relish, but she had to stand still. She felt as if chained to the bed. His tongue gave her great pleasure.
“I don’t think I’m going to last long,” she said, somewhat worried but with delight. Pleasant warmth spilt over her body.
“It’s probably due to high sensitivity and insufficient training,” he said.
Aurora felt a bit offended by this statement. It was true, but saying it out loud did not imply much sensitivity on his part.
“Let’s try this way. I’ll be very careful,” he promised, misinterpreting her sudden stiffness. He removed the pillows and helped her relax on the bed. He took off his trousers without hurrying. Then spread her legs and, leaning on his arms, penetrated her very cautiously.
Aurora couldn’t resist and groaned. It didn’t hurt, probably the variety of potions had kicked in. She felt sweet dizziness and pleasure. She wanted to hold him close, but she couldn’t. He leaned down and kissed her neck. Then he stroked her breasts with one hand. She traced the curve of his back with her hands.
“Aurora, how you arouse me,” he whispered in her ear. “We have to stop or I’ll explode very soon.”
“Let’s stop,” she said, clutching his buttocks playfully. He just smiled.
He did stop for a moment but then resigned.
“I won’t be able to hold back much longer, anyway. But maybe if we slow down…”
Aurora wrapped her good leg around him and put her arms around him.
“Just a little more,” she whispered.
He groaned and continued slowly and carefully. Aurora curled under him, gasped, then relaxed and pulled him closer. They were so close she could hear his heavy breathing. After a few thrusts, she felt the sensation growing stronger.
“Please don’t stop right now!” She almost shouted though he didn’t seem to have this intention.
“I couldn’t, even if I wanted to.”
After a few seconds, she started to scream – loud, high-pitched exclamations that could not form words. She felt something warm spill into her.
He stopped and leaned halfway on her. She put her hand on his heart to feel its beats.
“Thank you,” she whispered in his ear.
“No, thank you.” He wrapped his arms around her, still leaning on his elbows, and kissed her. After a short groan, he got up and lay down next to her.
It was late at night and they were both starting to fall asleep.
“How about we got rid of these?” She pointed to her domino.
“Is it necessary?”
“I can take yours off after you go to sleep anyway,” she smiled.
“As the lady wishes.” He reached to his face and removed the domino. Now that she was looking at him, there was really something familiar about his face.
“I’m Dan, by the way,” he said. Aurora suddenly remembered where she had seen him – he worked in the Ministry of Magic, in the education department. She also took off her domino and smiled.
“As you can see, I have a normal, easily forgettable face.”
“Oh! You work at Hogwarts, don’t you?” ‘And you’re considered to be particularly boring,’ Aurora finished in her mind.
“Yes, and you work in the Ministry.” She must have seen this clerk at least a hundred times, and she hadn’t paid more attention to him than needed to fill out her paperwork.
“Obviously we both have a reputation that precedes us everywhere.” If we weren’t masked, we probably wouldn’t have looked at each other twice.”
“I’m not as uninteresting as they say,” she tried to defend herself.
“But I am,” he smiled. “Dan, bring me form number five.” “Dan, lunch is at noon, don’t forget.” He imitated his boss. “When I saw you, I decided that I could be different – more interesting, more mysterious.”
“So that’s why you didn’t tell me your name?”
“It would have brought me back to my old self of the dorky-Dan-whom-nobody-notices.”
“I can call you Lord Daniel then,” she suggested. “So that you could feel special.”
“And where do you have such an unusual name from?”
“I’m Italian,” she admitted. “From Sicilia.”
“So that’s why they say Italian women were so hot.”
“That’s not true.”
“Of course it’s true. Look at yourself.” He helped her lift her head so that she could see what she looked like.
“I don’t notice anything unusual,” she said stubbornly.
He placed a pillow behind her and slid his hand over her abdomen.
“And now?”
“Maybe a little.”
He wrapped his arm around her waist.
“Let’s sleep, Aurora. After all, tomorrow is another day.”
“But sir, you don’t look tired at all.” She stroked his manhood. The response was clear.
“Well, if the lady wishes,” he agreed, seemingly reluctantly.
“Please lie down here.” She patted the space next to her. “I think I can get up now.”
It didn’t hurt so much any more. She was a little stiff, but that would pass, too, with the right method and a hot man to keep her warm. Maybe this was the ingredient that was missing from her potions. Passionate man, one piece. Dan might have been ordinary, but he was so charming.
